Grade: Teachers Pay and conditions M1 – UPS 3

Salary: From £28,000 up to  £43,685 per annum pro rata

Contract: Temporary 12month contract
Hours: Full time

Locations:  Scarborough, Whitby, Ryedale - Post is hybrid working with some travel across county necessary

We are looking to recruit a committed and passionate MES Locality Coordinator who is eager to play a positive role in a child or young person’s life during what may be a challenging time for them and their family. This is a very rewarding opportunity to be a part of a growing service which will ensure a child’s education continues despite their medical need. 

 

About the role

 

In this role, you will be responsible for (but not limited to) –

-        Managing and supervising a number of MES Maths and English Teachers and MES HLTA’s as well as coordinating their timetables across the areas.

-        Agreeing whether requests to the MES meet the criteria and identifying what level of intervention is appropriate.

-        Providing support and appropriate challenge to schools to ensure they are making reasonable adjustments for children with medical needs so they can access an education.

-        Deliver either Maths or English education to children and young people aged between 5-18 years old

-        Developing positive relationships with stakeholders including Health Specialists to ensure they contribute to the multi-disciplinary meetings 

-        Overseeing packages of education for children and young people not currently on the roll of a school.

 

About you

 

We are seeking applications from those who not only work well as a team but also by themselves and who can build trusting relationships with professionals and families whilst maintaining professional boundaries.    

 

You must be able to evidence strong experience of working with children in an education setting, along with significant experience of the English and/ or Maths curriculum.

You will have a good understanding how physical and mental health needs may impact on curriculum access, social and emotional development.

It is essential you can demonstrate significant recent successful mainstream classroom experience.

It is vital that you possess the desire, passion and motivation to work with children and young people and have good emotional resilience in working with challenging behaviours and attitudes.

You will need to be highly organised, able to respond calmly to change and confident in having challenging conversations with schools and parents.

The MES’s current training plan includes remote learning, autism, anxiety, Age Related Expectations (ARE’s), target setting, subject specific courses and Boxall. There will be equivalent to 12.5 hours of INSET days each school year.
