Location: Engine Shed Lane - Skipton
We are looking for Refuse Loaders to join our depot in Skipton.
No previous experience is required, and full training will be given.
The role
Working in small crews you will be collecting residual waste, garden waste, food waste or recyclable materials from domestic properties across the Craven locality. You will have to be able to move bags, wheelie bins and recycling bins and boxes, and using a lifting mechanism to tip the waste into the lorry. Health and Safety is also critical to ensure your team and residents are safe, including supporting your driver to help them navigate the streets of North Yorkshire safely.
The role is a hugely important role as you will be on the front-line of a key service in Skipton.
You need to be prepared to start early and weekend working may also be required.
The role includes:
- Collection and emptying of receptacles.
- Removing spillages, checking of service lists, and reporting instances outside of acceptable presentation.
- To support the driver in undertaking risk assessments. Assisting the driver, ensuring manoeuvres are completed safely and mitigate the risk to pedestrians and other road users.
- Responsible for the health and safety of self and colleagues, ensuring that all safe working practices are followed.
