Location: Northallerton - however there is a requirement to attend various locations across North Yorkshire to deliver training.
This is an opportunity to be part of the councils’ high performing Training and Learning service. The Training and Learning service is a key part of the HR and strategic workforce planning agenda for the council. The key priority is to provide the workforce of the council; and its partners with a range of high quality training, learning and development interventions, linked to the council priorities, realising a culture of learning throughout the organisation. With responsibility for the organisation’s plan and overall management of projects and initiatives within it, this includes procurement and effective delivery.
The training delivery team are looking to recruit to a Senior Training and Learning Officer post. The role is to support a range of training delivery solutions to be deployed across the organisation in response to the identified workforce needs, however this post will be focussed around the delivery of Leadership and Management, as well as a number of corporate courses such as Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, Customer and Team Development. In order to be successful in this role you will have extensive experience of designing and delivering training to leaders and managers within a large and complex organisation.
You will be a skilled communicator, who can influence, inspire and motivate and is able to work collaboratively and deliver positive and sustainable results.
You will be creative and have tenacity when faced with challenges. You will need to be passionate about training, learning and development, flexible and resilient enough to cope under pressure. You will work within a portfolio area and report to, and take your direction from, your Training and Learning Team Leader. You will work closely with HR Business Partners, service managers and colleagues to ensure newly commissioned workforce requirements are delivered. You must be willing to travel across the county and work as part of a dynamic team as well as being independent and self-disciplined.
Ideally you will have a training qualification; however we also encourage applications from those who have training experience and would be prepared to work towards a training qualification.
