Salary: £28,163 - £30,559 per annum pro rata

Do you have a desire for working with people, an interest in supporting the needs of local communities, and a passion for what library services deliver, including the promotion of reading, learning, wellbeing, and digital inclusion?  

 

As a Community Library Support Officer, you will be working alongside a team of dedicated trustees and committed volunteers across two community libraries, supporting the volunteers in the delivery of high-quality library and information services, while meeting North Yorkshire Council priorities. You will support the delivery of activities and events, promote library services, undertake stock management and provide excellent customer service, assisting in resolving any issues as they arise.  

 

You will be passionate about books and reading, have excellent communication skills, and the ability to work with volunteers, trustees and a range of community organisations. You will also have the ability to deliver a customer-focussed service, have literacy & numeracy qualifications equivalent to at least Level 2 and be confident in the use of IT.  

 

This post is split across two community libraries as follows: 15 hours per week at Sherburn and Villages Community Library and 7 hours per week at Tadcaster Community Library working on a rota basis Monday - Saturday, but some flexibility may be required depending on Service needs. There may be the opportunity for occasional additional work in other locations across the Area library team.
