The Role: This is an exciting opportunity to join Broadacres as we work in partnership with North Yorkshire Council to deliver the new LIFE contract, which stands for Living Independently for Everyone. As we expand the service, we will more than double the number of people we support over the coming years. This is your opportunity to be part of an ambitious and growing team that empowers people with mental health needs and experiences of multiple disadvantage to live independently, build resilience and achieve greater stability in their lives.
Working within the LIFE contract, you will play a vital role in supporting customers to sustain their tenancies, prevent homelessness, develop essential life skills and access the support they need to thrive.
This role will commence on 1 October 2026 when the new service launches.
In addition to delivering high-quality, person-centred support, you will provide guidance and coaching to colleagues, contribute to quality assurance activities and act as a subject matter expert for more complex customer cases.
You will work as a Key Worker, helping customers develop the confidence, skills and resilience needed to maintain their independence and achieve their goals. Alongside your direct support responsibilities, you will work closely with Support Workers and Team Leaders to provide advice on complex cases, undertake quality checks and audits, and support the continuous improvement of service delivery. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about achieving positive outcomes for customers while also supporting and developing colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, person-centred support to customers experiencing multiple disadvantage.
- Act as a Key Worker, developing, implementing and reviewing support plans and risk assessments.
- Provide guidance, advice and practical support to colleagues in managing complex customer situations.
- Promote best practice in safeguarding, wellbeing and risk management.
- Respond effectively to crisis situations and coordinate appropriate interventions.
- Carry out quality checks, audits and compliance activities to maintain high service standards.
- Identify and support opportunities for continuous service improvement.
- Facilitate customer meetings, reviews and multi-agency partnership working.
- Organise and deliver customer engagement activities and drop-in sessions.
- Provide deputy cover for Team Leaders when required.
- Maintain accurate, timely and confidential records, reports and compliance documentation.
- Support customers to achieve independence, increased engagement and successful move-on outcomes.
About You
We are looking for someone who is compassionate, resilient and committed to making a meaningful difference to the lives of people facing complex challenges, including homelessness, substance misuse, autism, mild learning disabilities, poor mental health and other support needs. You will be confident working independently while also providing guidance and support to colleagues. With excellent communication skills, sound judgement and a calm, professional approach, you will be able to manage challenging situations with empathy and confidence. Passionate about delivering outstanding customer service, you will be committed to achieving positive outcomes and continually seeking ways to improve both the customer experience and service delivery.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
- Experience supporting people experiencing multiple disadvantage.
- Level 3 Health and Social Care qualification (or equivalent).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive and effective relationships.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Experience of problem-solving and managing complex customer situations.
- Sound understanding of safeguarding principles and best practice when supporting vulnerable adults.
- Competent IT skills and experience maintaining accurate digital records.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays when required.
- Willingness to participate in an out-of-hours on-call rota.
- Desirable ExperienceWorking within supported housing services.
- Knowledge of current legislation, standards and government initiatives relating to supported housing.
- Experience completing and reviewing needs assessments and risk assessments.
- Knowledge of welfare benefits and associated support systems.
- Experience supporting colleagues through coaching, mentoring or quality assurance activities.
- Experience working in partnership with statutory agencies and participating in formal review processes.
