Our Service

North Yorkshire Council’s Property and Land Estate is managed under a Centralised Property Function, or Corporate Landlord Model and consists of over 3,000 land and property assets over a geographical area of 3,341sq miles. The Property Data & Intelligence (PD&I) Team lead the collation and utilisation of information regarding that estate. That information can range from ownership, value, size, and structure, use and occupation to rents, energy usage, maintenance plans and legislative compliance. The information managed by the team is critical to ensuring the council can manage its property in accordance with the law and realise the value and opportunities from one of its key assets.

Several IT systems are used to support and enable the operation of the Property service and the rest of the property supply chain. These include the asset data, energy, and the terrier mapping systems. The postholder will become fluent in working with these systems, proactively maintaining, analysing, and producing reports from a wide range of data relating to the Council’s estate, and where appropriate, to the property of external organisations for which the Council undertakes or arranges work.

What you will bring

You will have an eye for detail and an aptitude for analysing and inputting various formats of data.  You will be required to amend and create records using the council’s property management systems, currently Concerto, GIS and Systems Link. You will be able to interpret legal documents, maps and CAD plans to a high degree of accuracy. You will be able to liaise effectively with third parties such as energy suppliers, schools and other council departments in the provision of information or resolution of queries.
