Location: Selby, North Yorkshire
Salary: From £55,974 up to £61,664 per annum, pro rata plus relocation support of up to £8,000
Grade: Soulbury Scale B - Spine Point 2-5, plus access to up to 3 SPA points
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Full time (a job share would be considered for the right candidate) – 2 working days focussing on Specialist Senior EP activities and 3 working days focussing on Maingrade EP activities

North Yorkshire Council is seeking a Specialist Senior Educational Psychologist to develop the delivery of inclusive, evidence-based psychological services across the county.

 

About the service

North Yorkshire Council’s Education Psychology Service is a valued team within the Council. Our vision, is to develop a creative educational psychology offer, underpinned by consultation, empowering others, and creating sustainability.    This post is positioned to respond to the national changes and focus on early inclusive practice.  

The council is committed to growth of the EP team and to offer a balance of work at individual and systemic level.   We are looking for an innovative psychologist who wants to join us in shaping the direction of our educational psychology service for the future.

We are committed to providing CPD opportunities, excellent supervision including with peers and a focus on team wellbeing.  The team recently commissioned CPD from Kensington and Chelsea’s Bi-Borough Education Psychology Services to deliver a CPD day on consultation; the second part of this training will take place in March.

About the role

This is a new role within our Educational Psychology Service, focused on early intervention and supporting local inclusive practice. Post holder responsibilities include:

·       Leading the development of initiatives within the EP team, focused on Early Intervention approaches.

·       Contributing to local authority initiatives and projects within the areas of specialism.

·       Contributing to service planning and development related to the specialist area.

·       Representing the EP team and contributing to relevant strategic groups and regional partnerships.

·       Providing supervision to colleagues in their own work, including that with children and young people, related to the area of specialism.

·       Working closely with partners such as Health, SEND Hub Advisory Teachers and Managers, Portage and Early Help to build capacity.

·       Supporting development of our traded offer.

·       Delivering effective psychological services to a group or cluster of schools , including statutory and non-statutory work.

  • Proven experience of impact within educational psychology services.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and who want to be part of shaping our team.
  • Passionate and creative about their area of specialism.
