Location: Archibald Primary School, Middlesbrough
Number on Roll: 493
Commencing: September 2026
Salary: Leadership Scale: 21-24
Contract Term: Permanent
Our Opportunity:
This is an exceptional opportunity for an ambitious and values driven leader to become the next Headteacher of Archibald Primary School. You will join a highly committed and long standing staff team, a supportive Trust and a vibrant school community that places children at the heart of everything it does. As Headteacher, you will shape the strategic direction of a school with strong outcomes, a positive ethos, and a clear commitment to inclusion and aspiration for all. You will have the scope to build on established strengths, lead school improvement with creativity and clarity, and make a profound difference to the lives of children and families in Middlesbrough. This role offers the chance to lead a proud, diverse, and forward thinking school into its next exciting chapter.
About You:
You will be an inspiring and collaborative leader with a wide range of interpersonal skills to build positive, productive relationships with staff, parents, partner schools and the wider community. You will bring the strategic insight needed to ensure the school is fully prepared for future inspections and able to maintain financial sustainability.
Whilst not essential, it would be beneficial if you had previous experience of working in a school in an area of high deprivation and experience of implementing strategies which improve attendance.
As a leader, you will be committed to motivating, developing, and retaining a talented team of staff, recognising their crucial role in driving school improvement. Above all, you will value strong parental partnerships and view them as a key element in securing the best outcomes for every child.
We can offer you:
- A happy and friendly school, with delightful children who respect each other and have a thirst for learning.
- A culture which allows all staff to thrive and develop.
- An opportunity to see the huge potential that exists and the time to make Archibald Primary School a beacon of excellence in primary education.
- Significant levels of support from the Governing Board, Board of Trustees and a staff team who are experienced, committed and passionate about our school.
- A Governing Body committed to providing support on all matters including more sensitive or difficult issues and including the wellbeing of all staff members.
- The school is part of a small Educational Trust, with the Headteachers meeting and collaborating regularly, sharing ideas and best practice.
