Applefields School is looking to recruit an experienced teacher to work in our complex Autism provision/ Satellite Millthorpe from 1st September 2024.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, committed, and dynamic professional to work in this secondary generic special school.
This is an exciting opportunity to teach a class of mixed ability/age children with a diagnosis of Autism and sensory needs, recognising children as individuals as described in the SEND Code of Practice 2014
The ideal candidate will:
- Be an outstanding leader and role model for their class team.
- Be able to plan and teach in line with our school’s informal and formal curriculums, with the ability to ‘see the potential’ in every pupil.
- Be committed to continued professional development, via self-directed training and leadership feedback.
- Be an effective communicator when working with the wider departmental and school teams.
- Be a reflective practitioner who aligns their values with the needs of the school.
- Have relevant training to support the needs of the pupils.
- Have an excellent understanding of safeguarding.
