North Yorkshire Council Technology Systems and Applications Team provide information systems that serve residents across the county and support a workforce in excess of 20,000 people based in locations across North Yorkshire.

 

The role

As a Systems and Applications Operations Engineer you will be part of a large multi-faceted team sitting within the Council’s Technology department. Our team’s overall aim is to ensure the effective operation of key management information systems. You will act as a lead for nominated technology applications, which could fall within the following areas:

* Community development

* Planning

* Housing

* Leisure

* Social Care

* Education

 

You will truly become a systems expert, working collaboratively with internal and external partners, organisations and third party suppliers to help shape the current design and future developments of systems to meet business and statutory requirements. You will also be responsible for the successful testing and implementation of any new bespoke system developments, components and upgrade changes, as well as providing a professional, high quality, third line support service.

 

We would be interested in hearing from you if you have prior experience in supporting, implementing and developing technology systems and solutions.

 

Experience with a variety of automation, script creation or coding would be advantageous however is not essential as the role provides an excellent opportunity to develop these skills.

 

As an IT professional, excellent customer service and relationship building skills are a must.

Occasional out of hours working may be required to support system upgrades and changes, as well as occasional travel to other NYC sites and supplier events.
