About the role: 

 Are you someone with a passion for ensuring children and young people with speech and language and communication needs achieve their potential and aspirations into adulthood? We are looking for Speech and Language Therapists who can continue to complement the work of the existing NHS service within the Hambleton and Richmondshire area.  You will be working collaboratively with partners across health, care, the voluntary sector and parents/carers and children and young people. You will offer an enhanced level of support and intervention for cases requiring it, particularly around building the skills and knowledge of colleagues within the hubs, and within schools, settings and colleges in the Hambleton and Richmondshire locality. When required, you will work to enhance the LA offer to children and families within the statutory EHCP process and tribunal process, providing reports and detailed input to support complex assessments, and to make recommendations about future provision

An additional focus will be the providing therapeutic advice and support to targeted mainstream provisions (TMP) being established within North Yorkshire, based in mainstream schools. These will support children who can access a mainstream setting with an enhanced level of support. This post will work alongside NHS colleagues to enhance the Speech and Language support available to staff and children in those provisions. You will be supported in this work by Speech Language Therapy Assistants. 

 

You will also have the opportunity to work within the Personalised Learning College (PLC) for post 16 learners, supporting them with a variety of methods of communication.
