North Yorkshire Council have a national reputation for excellence and we are looking for Social Workers across our Disabled Children and Young People’s service. We also welcome those who are looking to relocate.

 

We are seeking a social worker to work in our specialist service based in Skipton/ Craven area.  You will be based in a team of social workers and a family support worker providing support and advice to children and young people with significant learning and physical disabilities aged 0-18 and their families.

 

The Role

 

The role will include completing comprehensive and clear assessments. Planning and negotiating packages of support and working in partnership with parents and other professionals and agencies. In order to ensure children and young people have opportunities to access community activities and short breaks to ensure they develop daily living and independence skills as possible, and ultimately make a successful transition into adulthood.

 

There will be a requirement to manage Looked after children case work, safeguarding and court work. Dependant on knowledge and skills. The service is committed to providing good quality supervision and support and promote personal development in order to achieve good outcomes for disabled young people and their families. If you have a social work qualification and experience of working with children, young people and their families. We look forward to hearing from you. We have a well-defined supervision policy which includes regular group supervisions, individual supervisions and opportunities to participate in County Wide practice model sessions, and engage in appreciative enquiry and conversation café’s about practice with our Principal Social Worker

 

About You

 

We are looking for Social Workers with a ‘can do’ attitude who are child focussed, like to think outside of the box and are creative in their planning with children. It doesn’t matter whether you are starting out in your social work career, returning to practice or an experienced worker looking for a new challenge either in a different field or new authority.
