We have a fantastic opportunity to join our Early Help Service as a Children and Families Intervention Worker.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, and flexible individual with a background of working with children, young people, and families to join us and make a real difference.
This is a very varied and diverse opportunity working with some of our most vulnerable within North Yorkshire.
You will be working closely with not only our Youth Justice Service and Children’s Social Care teams, but also be supporting our children, young people, families, and hosts who are part of the Homes for Ukraine scheme, asylum-seeking children (UASC) and offer support to young people and families who arrive in North Yorkshire as asylum seekers, or through refugee resettlement schemes.
Within this role, you’ll also be responsible for working in partnership to plan, deliver and evaluate high quality, integrated Early Help services for children and young people aged 0-19. And be able to provide crisis support for children and young people supported by Children’s Social Care Teams, and promote education and health services among Gypsy, Roma, Traveller and Show people (GRTS).
This post will offer opportunities to:
- Work directly with children, young people, and their families, to ensure they have the right support at the right time.
- Work with other key professionals to co-ordinate an effective network of support to make a real difference to the lives of children and young people.
- Work in a rewarding role where every day can be different.
- Be part of a dynamic team, working with like-minded people.
- Access outstanding training and career progression opportunities across Children and Families Service.
- An excellent rewards package, including hybrid working and flexitime, membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme, and a generous annual leave allowance.
- Regular 1-1 and group supervisions
About you
You will have at least a level 3 qualification in a relevant field, and significant experience of working directly with vulnerable children or young people and their families (ideally in an Early Help or social care setting).
Candidates must be committed and adaptable professionals who have an aptitude to work in a varied and fast-paced environment.
Although these skills and backgrounds are not essential for the post, we would be very pleased to receive applications from individuals who are from Gypsy, Roma, and Traveller backgrounds, and those who are fluent in English and can also offer another language including Dari, Pashto, Kurdish Sorani, Arabic, Ukrainian or Russian.
There is an expectation that all team members can be available to work some Bank Holidays, weekends, and evenings.
For an informal discussion about the position and the service please contact Kelly Trotter Practice Supervisor on kelly.trotter@northyorks.gov.uk
