About us
We are a nurturing school and need to expand our team of teaching assistants. Set in over 20 acres of stunning countryside, Welburn Hall School is situated in the market town of Kirkbymoorside; nestled on the edge of the North York Moors National Park.  
 
Our spacious grounds and building allow us to offer wonderful facilities and activities, such as equine therapy, horse riding, a petting zoo, gardening, and a state of the art sensory, light and I-Muse room.

Our pupils
You will have the enthusiasm and resilience to work with children and young people who have a wide variety of needs including: 
  • Autistic spectrum disorder
  • Moderate and severe learning difficulties
About the role
You will be collaborating closely with class teachers to advance pupils’ learning, this could be supporting pupils in class, or working with small groups or individual pupils in targeted sessions.
 
As a HLTA, you will need to provide cover to whole classes where the assigned teacher is not present, such as PPA time or covering short term absence. Due to this responsibility, HLTA status or QTS is essential. 
 
This role is wonderfully varied as you will be providing support to various classes and teachers keeping your role fresh and exciting. 
 
The successful candidate will have:
  • Level 2 numeracy & literacy qualification or equivalent.
  • HLTA status or QTS.
  • Significant experience of working with children in an education setting.
  • Good understanding of child/young people’s development and learning processes.
  • Understanding of individual children and young peoples’ needs.
  • An understanding that children/Young people have differing needs and knowledge of inclusive practice.
