Join our friendly school catering team and play an important role in helping to provide healthy, nutritious meals to children across Hull and the East Riding.
We're looking for a Relief Mobile Catering Assistant to provide cover and support across a number of school kitchens. This is a varied and rewarding role that's perfect for someone who enjoys working with people, being part of a team and making a difference in local schools. Whether you're looking for regular work, additional income alongside another role, or greater flexibility in your schedule, this position offers opportunities to work across our network of schools, with shifts available according to service requirements. Additional hours and overtime opportunities are frequently available.

As a Relief Mobile Catering Assistant, you'll help ensure our kitchens run smoothly and continue to provide excellent meals and customer service.
Your duties may include:
✔ Preparing food and ingredients ready for service
✔ Serving meals to pupils and staff
✔ Operating tills where required
✔ Assisting with food preparation and presentation
✔ Washing up and cleaning kitchen equipment
✔ Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
✔ Following food safety procedures and completing relevant records

We're seeking someone who is:
· Friendly, reliable and enthusiastic
· A team player with a positive attitude
· Passionate about delivering excellent customer service
· Flexible and willing to work across different school locations
· Committed to maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene
· Able to work efficiently in a busy kitchen environment
Previous catering experience is welcome but not essential, as full training will be provided.
Work That Fits Around Your Life
One of the biggest benefits of joining our Relief Catering Team is the flexibility it can offer.
This role is ideal for anyone looking to fit work around their existing commitments. Whether you're a parent, semi-retired, studying, or already working elsewhere, you can let us know when you're available and work shifts that suit both you and the service.
Already have a part-time job and work three days a week? This could be the perfect opportunity to top up your income on the days you're free.
Unlike many school-based positions, you're not restricted to taking annual leave during school holidays. This means you can enjoy the freedom to travel and take breaks throughout the year, often benefiting from quieter destinations and lower travel costs outside peak holiday periods.
If you're looking for a role that offers genuine flexibility, variety and an excellent work-life balance, we'd love to hear from you.
