Salary: £48,474 to £52,504  

Contract: Established Full Time, Monday - Friday 

Weekly Hours/Working Pattern: 37 hours. Operating to a hybrid working policy, office-based working is expected at least 5-6 times a month 

Location: Offices in Harrogate, Malton, Northallerton, Richmond, Scarborough, Selby, Skipton, Whitby - you can work in the office most local to you as your base of work.  

 

About the role 

 

In April 2023, 8 district, borough and county councils came together to form the third largest unitary council in England, North Yorkshire Council.  We are the region’s largest employer exceeding 15,000 people. 

 

The newly formed North Yorkshire Council is now on a journey of consolidation, change and evolution. Our Transformation Service is leading the council through these changes, so it’s a very exciting time to get involved as part of our Business Analyst team. 

 

To support this change agenda, we are looking to recruit for the newly created role of Lead Business Analyst. This role will report to the Head of Business Analysis and is a critical role to also lead and support a team of skilled and professional Business Analysts.

As a Lead Business Change Analyst you will be working in a pivotal role at the heart of transforming our new organisation to be an effective modern unitary council.

 

This is a career enhancing and self-fulfilling opportunity.  You will help shape services by developing and embedding business change principles, ensuring that initiatives and opportunities progressed are the right ones for North Yorkshire Council, whilst delivering a great customer experience to North Yorkshire citizens. 

 

In this role you will: 

 

• Work with a wide range of senior stakeholders across the Council to identify opportunities for change. 

• Develop and present cases for change to senior management and Council partners. 

• Manage and undertake a range of analysis activities to further define opportunities, benefits, and action plans. 

• Understand and represent the customer interests, requirements and perspectives throughout analysis work and project lifecycles. 

• Review the impact and success of initiatives, to assess and quantify the extent to which benefits have been realised. 

• Be part of the management team of a supportive and dedicated Business Analysis team, who are committed to delivering positive change. 

 

 Essential Experience 

 

• Senior level communication and interpersonal skills. 

• Setting (and continuously improving) standards in business analysis. 

• Experience of leading, managing and developing professional Business Analysts to deliver to high performance standards.

• Experience of aiding, supporting and progressing business change in large organisations.

 

Essential Qualifications 

 

• Educated to degree level or equivalent experience. 

• Evidence of on-going commitment to CPD 

• Senior level analysis qualifications, e.g. BCS business analysis diploma (or higher), Lean, Six-Sigma Green Belt (or higher), or equivalent demonstrable experience.

Work Location

 

Having offices in Harrogate, Malton, Northallerton, Richmond, Scarborough, Selby, Skipton, Whitby, you can work in the office most local to you as your base of work. 

We attend the office at least 1 day per week where we focus on service planning, supportive supervision and coaching and professional develop alongside our business as usual tasks. The rest of the week we work remotely, and this might often include working from other offices and/or working from home depending on where it is most effective to work from.

 

Some travel to key locality offices (Northallerton, Harrogate and Scarborough) may be required based on business needs.
