We're thrilled to announce that we're hiring a Duty Manager to join our team at Knaresborough Leisure and Wellness Centre.

At Brimhams Active we have been fortunate to receive significant investment in our Leisure Facilities, Our brand new £16 million Knaresborough Leisure and Wellness centre opened in December 2023 offering a sensational 6-lane, 25m pool, an exhilarating leisure water area with a thrilling flume, and a luxurious new sauna and steam room. But that's not all! We are fortunate to be home to a cutting-edge 335m2 Gym, a fully immersive spin studio, a dedicated dance studio, as well as a fabulous brand new café.

We are sure these incredible additions will empower you, the successful candidate, to lead the whole team of lifeguards, receptionists, wellness coaches and our café colleagues in bringing our vision of: "A healthier, more active population, living longer, more independent, and happier lives" to life.

Our team of Duty Managers undertake the day-to-day operational management of the facility. You will be working in a dynamic and fast changing environment where no two days are the same. As a Duty Manager reporting to the Operations Managers the successful candidate will have various management responsibilities including:

·       The health & safety of customers and our team

·       Marketing and programming

·       Customer care

·       Staff supervision,  

·       Recruitment, training, and development

·       Swimming development.

Full training will be provided and candidates will have the opportunity to expand their leadership style by joining our Reach Programme for middle managers

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate excellent organisation skills, to be sensitive to customer needs and have a thorough understanding of the health and safety issues that relate to a busy leisure centre. You must have some experience in the management of a large leisure facility together with the ability to communicate with and supervise a large and varied staff team.

You should have a further qualification in leisure or a related field, a current RLSS National Pool Lifeguard qualification and a First Aid at Work qualification. Recognised training and or coaching qualifications, Pool Plant Operators certificate and working knowledge of IT systems are also desirable.
