**Ideal job for an experienced cook**

We are recruiting a Travelling Cook. We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join our catering team in the Hull Area.

We have an opportunity to join our catering team where you will be providing tasty, nutritious, home-cooked meals made from locally sourced fresh produce.

North Yorkshire Education Service – Catering is a ‘fresh food’ organisation encouraging children and young people to choose nutritious meals. We are proud to offer a wide choice of healthy options to our children, encouraging them to eat well and fuelling their appetite for learning.

As a valued member of our hard-working team, you will be reliable, dependable and committed to providing healthy wholesome dishes, working typically 09.30 – 13.00 totalling 17.5 hours per week over 5 days. Overtime is often available often for larger sites, depending on meal uptake. No weekend work! 

You will work term time weeks only; however, you will receive equal monthly payments throughout the year. For this you will be paid £13.47 per hour in addition to annual holiday and Bank Holiday entitlement.  Full training will be given and a uniform will be provided.

A car and business insurance are essential, as you will be traveling in the area covering sickness/vacancies and assisting the area manager with inductions/training of new staff. You will be given a mileage allowance for your traveling.

As a Travelling Cook, you will:

• deliver an effective catering service operating to the highest standards of food safety

• cover sickness and vacancies

• prepare, cook and serve meals to pupils and staff, as well as other kitchen management duties such as supervision of staff, ordering of food, stocktaking and administration, setting out and putting away dining furniture, washing up and cleaning the kitchen and dining areas

• train new staff, carrying out inductions and assisting the area manager with her role.
