Are you an experienced Occupational Therapist looking for your next challenge?
If so, we want to hear from you!
We are looking for an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our OT team based in Skipton; but with a flexible approach to home and office based working.
Our team is made up exclusively of Occupational Therapists and we are responsible for carrying out assessments with adults and older people with a range of physical, sensory and mental health needs. We are a key part of Health and Adult Services.
We are proud of our successful track record as a leading care service provider and we consistently appear amongst the top performing County Councils in the country. You will be joining us at a pivotal time as North Yorkshire County Council and the District Councils look to unite as one under the Local Government Reorganisation planned for 2023.
The team is led by an OT Team Manager and a support structure is headed by the Principle OT. We also have a Senior OT allied to the team who supports with professional issues and development and provides regular peer support. Additionally, we work closely with our OT colleagues working within the NHS in the Craven area.
Your focus will be to maximise the independence and safety of vulnerable people who have social care needs using a person centred approach. This will be achieved by undertaking a range of strength based OT assessments and interventions ensuring adults with care and support needs, and their carers, achieve their outcomes to live independent lives. You will work with clients and carers to meet their identified needs using creative solutions through the provision of advice, support, equipment and adaptations to develop appropriate support plans within specified resources.
Our ethos is to promote health and wellbeing, preventing, reducing and delaying need in line with the Care Act 2014. The type of assessments include moving and handling, major adaptations and carers assessments.
You must have a degree or diploma in Occupational Therapy and be registered with HCPC.
Working pattern will include some weekend working.
In return we can offer you a range of benefits including flexible working, generous leave entitlement, membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme, employee discount benefits as well as plentiful training and development opportunities.
