Location: Flexibility over agreeing which one of our Council Offices locations the role is based from, with hybrid working opportunities and a requirement to cover the North Yorkshire area for hearings and meetings.

As an ambitious and high performing legal team, with over 60 lawyers supported by a dedicated practice manager and paralegal team, North Yorkshire Council is offering a number of exciting opportunities to candidates wishing to join its legal team.

 

The legal team is part of Legal and Democratic Services within the Chief Executive’s Group. The Council provides a range of services across North Yorkshire, and the legal team provide a comprehensive and efficient legal service to officers, the Executive, full Council, its Committees and Members, and external clients including the newly formed Mayoral Combined Authority.

The roles are all permanent, full time basis. We are looking to recruit into the following roles:

 

  • Children's Solicitor/Lawyer – Grade JK-M
  • Planning and Environment Solicitor/Lawyer - Grade JK-M

The successful candidates will be experienced in the areas of work detailed in the job specification and be able to demonstrate the skills and competencies listed therein.
