Estates Surveyor

Salary: £45,000 to £55,000 per annum, experience dependant.

Location: Northallerton or Otley, with hybrid working

Contract: Permanent, full time

We are looking for experienced Estates Surveyors to join us at Align Property Services to cover work for North Yorkshire Council in the Hambleton, Scarborough, and Selby areas. You will be based in either of our Northallerton or Otley offices.

As a member of the Estates & Valuation team, you will collaborate with Surveyors and Valuers to deliver precise valuations and advice, ensuring client requirements are met while coordinating with team members and other disciplines within APS. You will work closely with the wider Estates team at both Align and  North Yorkshire Council, liaise with statutory authorities and public bodies, providing technical support and completing job costing and new client assessments in coordination with the project lead and Estates Director.

To be successful in this position, you will:

  • Be educated to degree level in an appropriate discipline, and hold professional registration with MRICS/FRICS as well as being a Registered Valuer (or would be willing to register)
  •  Have significant experience within a property/surveying consultancy or property management organisation.
  • Have demonstratable experience of working in Asset Management within local Authorities Estate Teams and/or other similar private/public organisations.
  • Prepare reports for clients, including development appraisals, viability assessments (residential & commercial), Annual asset valuations, disposals & acquisitions, Landlord & Tenant, Management, Insurance valuations, DRC’S and all areas of valuation work that is undertaken in the role.
  • Have experience in using proprietary data bases such as ARGUS, CoreLogic and other surveying and tablet/app-based systems would be advantageous.
  • Working knowledge of relevant UK valuation standards, legislative adoptable standards, local authority auditor reporting as well as any relevant private/public sector experience.
  • Be IT proficient, including the use of Microsoft packages.
  • Hold a full UK driving license.
