North Yorkshire Council have a national reputation for excellence, and we are looking for a SEND Assistant EHC Caseworkers.
The Directorate has established an Integrated SEND Service (0-25) to provide an improved experience for children and young people with SEND and their families, including pathways and key points for assessment and decision making.
This is an exciting time to join the SEND service, we are excited to launch this new opportunity to work as an Assistant EHC Caseworkers, in this role you will work closely with and report to Casework Officers and Casework Managers.
The role will be to maintain a caseload of identified young people and provide professional, effective and supportive service to parents of children who are undergoing assessments and implement statutory duties as well as having an understanding of Children and Families Act (2014) and procedures relating to the statutory review of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP) for children and young people with special educational needs and/or disability as specified in the Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) Code of Practice (2015).
You will update education, health and care plans following reviews as well as organise attend and contribute to meetings as well as discuss specific issues associated with the needs and provisions of individual pupils.
About you, we would like you to have an understanding of educational, SEND and Inclusion legislation. We do need you to have the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people in a professional, effective, and responsive manner and have excellent organisational skills to enable you to carry out the role to a high standard.
