The Opportunity
The York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority is seeking to appoint a Business Administrative Officer
Overview of the role
· The post-holder will work within the Support Service providing administrative and operational support across the York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority (YNYCA). Post-holders will be line managed by the Leadership Support Manager, but in some instances, will be tasked on a day-to-day basis by a senior manager within the organisation to provide administrative support across a variety of workstreams.
· This role involves spoken communications, so a confident use of English language is required.
· The post holder will need to have attention to detail and be well organised. They will need to be able to establish effective working relationships with colleagues across the organisation.
What you will bring
· Knowledge of using various computer packages for communications and data input.
· Sound knowledge of common office practice and procedures.
· Sound understanding of issues relating to confidentiality and data security.
· Good understanding and commitment to high quality services and customer care.
· Experience of providing administrative support in a busy office environment.
· Experience of data input and data management ensuring accuracy and where appropriate confidentiality.
· Significant experience and competence with using IT and common office packages including word and excel.
· The ability to converse at ease and provide clear advice to colleagues at all levels including senior management and/or stakeholders.
· Experience of managing and prioritising own workload.
· Experience of providing information to the public and/or customers.
· Ability to communicate effectively in writing to produce documents in a range of formats and styles to suit a range of audiences.
· Ability to analyse, organise and present data.
· Ability to set up filing systems and to store, retrieve and archive information.
· Ability to produce an accurate record of meeting discussions and actions.
· Professional Qualifications/Training/Registrations required by law, and/or essential for the performance of the role.
· Literacy, Numeracy and ICT qualifications required (Level 2), or equivalent.
· Level 3 qualification in Business Administration or equivalent.
