North Yorkshire Education Services (NYES) provide catering, cleaning and caretaking services to Schools, Academies, Nurseries, and NYC corporate accommodation under the direction of the Commercial Director.   NYES Catering is a customer focused, ‘fresh food’ organisation encouraging children, young people and older people to choose healthy food with the aim of increasing the uptake of meals. NYES Cleaning provides responsive, high quality and reliable cleaning and caretaking services ensuring that sites are kept clean, secure, and well-maintained on a day-to-day basis.  

 

The successful candidate will provide a monitoring and inspection service to our sites both catering and cleaning and to other NYC Service providers. The role is to give advice and support as required to ensure compliance with food safety, health and safety, standards, risk management legislation and good practice.  

 

The candidate is required to produce full accurate professional reports following inspection visits to support the managers and demonstrate due diligence.   The post holder will occasionally assist the Training Manager to prepare and deliver training for awarding bodies qualifications, external and in house training courses.  

 

You will be regularly working out around North Yorkshire and across our sites in other areas. A flexible approach to working is required as the role may require early starts at times to be at the site to complete an inspection before the school’s day starts or to complete an inspection later in the day.   We are looking for a person that has experience of working in a catering and cleaning environment and has a keen eye for detail. We need someone with excellent communication skills, good attention to detail and confident with IT. You must enjoy working with people and always be professional.  

 

The role will be mainly located in the South and East of North Yorkshire and the base for mileage purposes will be at Sandpiper House, Selby. Some home working will be required.   A full driving licence is essential for this role, mileage will be paid for work related travel. A laptop and smart phone will be provided. Full DBS clearance is required for this role.
