The Opportunity
York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority is seeking to appoint an Events Delivery Officer to join the Business Growth & Innovation Team.
You will play a key role in planning, coordinating, and delivering a range of high-quality events that support our programmes and investment-focused projects. Working closely with colleagues across the organisation, as well as with external partners and key stakeholders, you’ll help design and deliver engaging events that showcase our work, bring partners together, and support regional business growth and innovation.
You’ll work as part of a team on the operational delivery of events from planning through to evaluation, ensuring strong coordination, clear communication, and excellent participant experiences. Your work will contribute directly to the success and impact of our programmes by creating well-run events that foster collaboration, share knowledge, and promote opportunities across York and North Yorkshire.
Additionally, you will:
· Support all aspects of programme and project management across a range of investment‑related events and activities.
· Help to maintain strong project delivery, track performance and ensure projects achieve their intended outcomes.
· Assist in the implementation and ongoing improvement of project management systems and processes.
· Help to capture, analyse, interpret and report on performance information for the Economy Directorate.
· Work with Programme Leads to ensure compliance with Combined Authority procedures and promoting consistent, high‑quality practice across the team.
What you will bring
· Working knowledge of project management methodology, and the economic development and/or business landscape.
· Experience delivering projects, managing partners/suppliers, and producing clear reports and performance data.
· Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships and present information effectively.
· Confidence in analysing data and using IT systems (documents, spreadsheets, databases).
· Ability to work independently or as part of a team; resilient under pressure; comfortable leading aspects of meetings and training.
· Relevant qualification or equivalent experience.
· Ability to demonstrate integrity, professionalism, motivation, and commitment to inclusion and organisational values.
· Flexibility with working hours and able to travel when required.
