Location: Northallerton, North Yorkshire
Salary: £12.71 per hour
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Contract: 3 years Fixed-term

At NY Highways, you’ll train as a Vehicle Technician while earning a salary, gaining real-world experience from day one in a busy workshop environment. You’ll learn how to maintain and repair a wide range of vehicles that help keep North Yorkshire moving.

🔧What you’ll be doing

As an Apprentice Vehicle Technician, you’ll build practical skills while working alongside experienced technicians.

Your day-to-day tasks will include:

• Carrying out vehicle servicing and safety checks
• Assisting with MOT inspections and identifying wear and tear
• Repairing and replacing engine and vehicle components
• Using diagnostic tools to identify faults
• Preparing vehicles for maintenance and ensuring they meet safety standards
• Following health and safety procedures in a workshop environment

You’ll gain experience working on a wide range of vehicles, developing both mechanical and problem-solving skills. By the end of your apprenticeship, you’ll have the skills and confidence to work independently as a qualified technician.

✅What we’re looking for

We’re looking for motivated individuals who are keen to start their career.

You should have:

• An interest in cars, vans or mechanical work and how things work
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Good attention to detail
• Ability to work well as part of a team
• A problem-solving mindset

Essential requirements:

• Aged 16 or over
• GCSE English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above), or willingness to achieve this
• A full UK driving licence, or working towards it

Additional information

Due to the nature of this role, successful candidates will be required to:

• Undergo drug and alcohol testing in line with company policy
