The Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) Team is part of the Inclusion Service SEND Hub, offering specialist advice and support to schools in the Hambleton & Richmonshire area of North Yorkshire. SEMH Specialist Practitioners work across the area, providing advice and guidance to schools, settings and parents and direct work with children and young people (CYP).
Reporting to and liaising with the SEMH Specialist, you will often work independently, determining underlying SEMH needs, developing plans, providing individually tailored support including one to one and small group interventions, modelling approaches, and contributing to advice for Education, Health and Care Plans. Your work will be peripatetic, often travelling to several school settings each day, and attending virtual meetings from home or at a NYC base.
Understanding the impact of SEMH needs on children and young people, you will make a positive difference, and use a wide range of skills to support schools to meet the individual needs of Children and Young People (CYP) and develop whole school approaches to extend and embed impact.
We are looking for someone who has children and young people's best interests at heart, who can work flexibly and positively with a range of different stakeholders to influence and encourage the adults around a child and improve outcomes.
The role is challenging and rewarding. You will be part of two friendly teams - a county wide SEMH Team, and a Locality Hub Team with other specialisms including Communication & Interaction and Cognition & Learning.
Team members have the opportunity to develop knowledge and skills, attend training and collaborate on projects with colleagues.
This role is term time only. The actual salary will be pro rata.
