Bedale High School is a rural 11-16 secondary school, situated at in the picturesque town of Bedale, North Yorkshire. Located close to the stunning Yorkshire Dales, we are a warm and welcoming school where the concept of serving our local community is at the heart of all we do.

 

Our Opportunity:
This is an excellent opportunity for an outstanding Interim Headteacher to lead our wonderful school. Recognised as ‘Good’ in all areas by Ofsted in 2019, we are looking for someone who will be committed to helping us continue our journey of improvement. This post is initially a fixed term post for one term to provide interim leadership whilst we appoint to the substantive position.
 
You will lead a committed team of staff and work alongside a governing body that is ambitious and has high aspirations for all pupils and staff. Although we are small, we are progressive and outward-looking as a community. Over the last seven years we have successfully re-established our school as the automatic choice for most local families and have invested a great deal of time into securing positive relationships with local primary schools, businesses and other partners. Our values have led to our strong and loyal community of staff, students, parents and carers, governors and alumni.  

 

About You:
The Governors are looking for a principled and committed Interim Headteacher with a passion for promoting excellence in teaching and learning and a strong focus on pupils’ achievement and holistic development. It is important to us that our new Interim Headteacher has a friendly, outgoing personality with a positive outlook, has respect for difference and is committed to enabling learners to aim high. You will have the ability to deliver positive outcomes for all pupils, regardless of background or ability.
