Salary: £35,745 to £40,221 (pay award pending)

We are looking for Project Engineers to join our team in Skipton.

 

The Team

The Highway Operations Unit is responsible for the implementation of highway improvement and maintenance schemes, routine highway maintenance activities, delivery of the winter maintenance service, local network management and liaison with the public at a local level

 

The Role

As our Project Engineer, you will report to the Improvement Manager, and will be part of a team of skilled and passionate Project Engineers delivering highway maintenance and improvement schemes from the local capital programme and providing local development control and traffic management advice. You will liaise with our delivery partners to develop positive relationships as well as fostering good relationships with Elected Members, other stakeholders and the wider community we engage with are key elements of the role and, as such, the role will include some occasional out of hours working.

 

This is a fantastic career opportunity for someone who has experience/interest in highway engineering and/or traffic management or a related field.

 

Applicants are not expected to have experience in all of the fields the job description covers; some previous experience is needed, with on the job training given provided in other fields as required.

 

What you will bring

This is a career graded role, so if you are working towards completion of the National Certificate / ONC / OND or equivalent in civil engineering or an appropriately related subject and have little highways related knowledge and experience, or whether you are working towards or have achieved an HNC/HND and have extensive highway related experience, we would love to hear from you.
