Our Team
Regeneration encompasses work to transform places, deliver built infrastructure such as roads and buildings, community-based initiatives such as programmes to help people back into work, cultural and heritage projects, and activity to develop and regenerate town centres and public spaces. Regeneration is a broad discipline to work in, the challenges are varied and almost always new, and the job satisfaction is rewarding. Being flexible, quick to learn, enthusiastic and imaginative are key attributes in this role along with the ability to appreciate local needs and the aspirations of local communities.
About the Role
Under the overall direction of your line manager, you will undertake a wide range of project support activities relating to the council’s Plan for Economic Growth. You will support specific projects and will be required to engage with a wide range of agendas and disciplines in order to consolidate your knowledge and experience. You will work alongside other officers supporting external funding applications and, the delivery of key projects with our partners in the public and private sector. In addition, you will be required to project manage smaller pieces of work. The post will be based at Town Hall, Scarborough but with flexibility to work from home and in locations across North Yorkshire.
About You – Essential Requirements
- Educated to first degree level
- Awareness of local government or the wider public sector
- Awareness of change management
- Good working knowledge of data analysis techniques
- Good understanding of how policies/procedures can be applied in practice to result in required outcomes
- Problem solving skills and the ability to find innovative solutions
- Experience of project work
- Flexibility and ability to work on own initiative
- Ability to travel across the County
