The Role

Do you have half an hour to spare in the morning or afternoon? If so, we’re looking for a School Crossing Patrol who wants to make a difference to the local community in Pickering.

Duty times8:10am – 08.55am and 2:55pm – 3:30pm Monday to Friday (6.40 hours per week) Monday- Friday.  

Our school crossing patrols provide a valuable service to the local community by ensuring that children and adults can cross the road safely on their route to and from school.

Duties

  • Ensure safe road crossing for children and pedestrians during patrol times
  • Stop traffic using the official ‘STOP’ sign
  • Conduct pre-duty health and safety checks of the crossing site
  • Report any hazards, equipment issues, or site concerns to the Patrol Officer
  • Wear and maintain approved uniform and equipment
