Salary: From £35,745 up to £40,221 per annum pro rata
Hours: Full time/ 37 hours
Contract: Permanent
Location: To be based in one of the 7 office locations with the expectation to travel across the county as required.
About the Council and the Service
This is an exciting opportunity to work within the newly created Housing Delivery team at North Yorkshire Council. The team is part of the wider new Housing Delivery and Partnerships Service, which will lead on delivering the Council’s housing strategy and in delivering the Council’s bold ambitions for new housing growth.
We have an ambition within our Housing Revenue Account (HRA) business plan to deliver 500 new homes across North Yorkshire over the next 5 years through a variety of models. We are in the process of developing a Delivery Plan, which will set out how we intend to meet that ambition, which the new team will deliver on.
The role
This role will provide a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of delivering our bold ambitions and the role will form a key part of the team delivering an exciting development programme to grow our own Council housing stock. Reporting to one of the two Housing Delivery Managers, you will work on the delivery of these new homes through various mechanisms including direct delivery and through the Council’s companies and joint ventures.
You will lead on specific projects with the support of the Housing Delivery Manager and be responsible for delivering projects right through from inception to completion. You will also work alongside other team members in the delivery of these projects plus colleagues from supporting services such as Planning, Property, Legal and others. You will also lead on projects to deliver new housing for our internal partners such as Health and Adult Services and Children and Young Services to meet their housing needs.
What you will bring.
You will bring a passion for delivering high quality new housing, which will meet the needs of our communities. You will have significant experience of housing development and project management and leading and working with project teams. You will have experience in undertaking options appraisals and development and financial appraisals.
You will also have a good understanding of housing development finance and the wider funding regimes. Excellent communication and negotiation skills are a must, as you will be working with a wide range of partners and project teams, which will require collaborative working.
