Grow Yorkshire Partnership Officer - York/Hybrid Working

Grade: J/K         

Salary:  £37,670 - £42,146 per annum

Hours per week: 37 hours          

Contract type: Fixed term until end of March 2025

The Opportunity

We present an exciting opportunity to join us at the newly formed York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority (CA) to have an integral role in supporting farm businesses in North Yorkshire to become more environmentally sustainable.

 

The Grow Yorkshire Partnership Officer will support the delivery of the Grow Yorkshire initiative, which is a pioneering partnership to grow, develop and attract new investment to the region’s food and farming industry, with a strategic remit across environment, innovation, skills and wellbeing. This role will be specifically supporting the development and delivery of ambitious projects that help the food and farming industry in the region to decarbonise.

 

This will include: -

• Facilitating the development of programmes and projects that deliver environmental and economic benefits for York and North Yorkshire;

• Harnessing both public and private sector investment in the delivery of these projects and programmes; and

• Ensuring that projects and programmes are delivered effectively and maximise their impact, including the new Farm Sustainability Programme.

You will work closely with other teams within the Combined Authority as well as Grow Yorkshire partners, such as the Yorkshire Food, Farming and Rural Network (YFFRN), Yorkshire Agricultural Society (YAS), CLA and NFU.

What you will bring.

 

Key requirements for the role include:

• Excellent understanding of the challenges and opportunities for rural business

• Knowledge of relevant policy agendas and local, regional and national government structures

• Experience of partnership working, project management and report writing

• Ability to engage, communicate and influence with a range of people in the public and private sector

• Ability to solve problems, work effectively with others to find solutions

• Hold a degree level or equivalent experience in a relevant subject
