General Teaching Assistant High Needs Learner Programmes

 

We have a new and exciting opportunity for someone to make a significant contribution to our Special Education Needs learning provision for our existing post 16 learners with an Education, Health and Care Plan attending the Personalised Learning Pathways Hub, at Northdale Horticulture, Northallerton.

Personalised Learning Pathway enable young people to access local learning opportunities which will lead to community participation, and wherever possible independent living and/or employment/ or preparation for adulthood.

 

You will be working as a team with a qualified teacher and teaching assistant to deliver a bespoke person-centred independence programme to a young person with complex needs, which will support the young person to develop and progress based on a clear understanding of their personal needs and aspirations. This will be achieved by collaborating with the young person to develop clear learning aims and objectives which will empower individuals with the skills, confidence and challenge to be successful in adult life.

 

Personalised Learning Pathways is a person-centred programme which supports the young person to develop, and progress based on a clear understanding of their personal needs and aspirations. 

 

You will work closely with the teacher, to deliver learning opportunities designed around the needs of a very complex young person.  You will support young people to achieve their Individual Learning targets; providing personal care as required.
