About the role
You will support organisational transformation by designing and delivering automation and digitisation of council services using the latest tools and technology such as AI, low code platforms and robotic process automation.
You will be solving problems, designing user-friendly services and solutions, developing automation and low code products, and supporting digital transformation.
You will work with teams across the Technology and Transformation services, and the wider business areas, to ensure opportunities identified for improvement are implemented to support realisation of benefits and efficiencies.
This role goes beyond the tech and aims to make it open to all our users.
The post is based at your nearest NYC office. Travel may be required to other parts of the county- specifically County Hall, Northallerton - depending on project needs.
About us
The SDDA team is responsible for creating, managing and improving a wide range of services and digital products that provide core capabilities across the council and partner services.
As part of a multi-disciplinary team, we're changing how the council manages their services and digital products for the better.
Recent projects include:
- The design and delivery of a new customer engagement platform (CRM).
- An ongoing programme of RPA delivery.
- The creation of single, North Yorkshire wide services across the council including garden waste, replacement bins, and housing repairs.
- A new low code end to end service for complaints and compliments.
- Introduction of AI chatbots and an approach for AI testing and delivery.
- Digitisation of services for Environmental Health and Licensing.
About you
We put customers at the heart of everything we do, so we’re looking for someone who has that mindset.
We are looking for somebody with a passion for digital and technology.
You may have experience of front-end design and development, or you may have come from a systems analyst role, or perhaps another area of IT, or have experience working with systems as part of the service you support.
Or you may be from a user experience, content design, customer or analysis background with a focus on technology.
Some knowledge of the following would be beneficial;
- Requirements elicitation and UX analysis techniques, e.g. user stories, storyboarding, wireframing and user acceptance testing.
- Configurable information system applications e.g. RPA or low code form platforms.
- Process modelling including developing ideal ‘to-be’ processes.
- Technical testing and user acceptance testing approaches.
- CSS, Java Script and HTML.
