We are seeking a reliable, proactive, and friendly Caretaker to join our dedicated team at Barrowcliff School. This is a vital role in helping maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for our pupils, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
• Opening and securing the school premises daily
• General maintenance and minor repairs
• Ensuring health and safety standards are upheld
• Grounds maintenance and cleanliness
• Liaising with contractors and suppliers
• General portering, moving of equipment, supporting with deliveries
• Willingness to carry out routine cleaning duties as part of maintaining a safe and hygienic environment
What We’re Looking For:
• Experience in a similar role (preferred but not essential)
• Basic DIY and maintenance skills
• Good organisational skills
• Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively and respectfully with both adults and children.
• A positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of the school
• Ability to safely perform the physical tasks associated with the role, such as lifting, bending, standing for extended periods, and moving equipment
