Are you passionate about creative programming and cultural placemaking?

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Creative Programme Lead for Selby’s new Place Partnership project, Now Then!.

We are seeking a Creative Lead who wants to work in a small, collaborative, and creative Partnership. The successful candidate will be supported by the Programme Manager (NYC’s Major Projects Lead) to shape, produce, and deliver a diverse range of innovative projects and events, co-ordinating cross-programme work to ensure successful delivery and creative outcomes.

Now Then! is an ambitious cultural place-based programme of arts, events and activities which will take place in the town centres of Selby, Sherburn and Tadcaster from April 2024 to the Spring of 2026. Funded by Arts Council England’s Place Partnership Fund, UK Shared Prosperity Fund and North Yorkshire Council’s Cultural Development Fund, this transformative programme will be steered and developed by a partnership of community and cultural organisations and will create joyful, memorable and authentic cultural experiences, targeted to local and creative communities’ needs and aspirations.

It will include an impactful co-curated programme of commissions: highly visible artworks, happenings and experiences supporting cultural place-making and regeneration ambitions; telling the stories of places and people, focusing on people’s pride in where they live and the deep roots of the district.

This is a great time to join us as you will also be part of a new Culture and Archives team at North Yorkshire Council which has seen the coming together of officers from across the county, offering the opportunity to share skills and collaborate.

The Creative Programme Lead will relish the freedom to shape this newly created role and make a real difference to the area and its resident and creative communities through the delivery of an impactful, diverse and inclusive programme.

The ideal candidate will be highly organised and creative, a motivated self-starter with strong planning, evaluation and communication skills who can confidently and independently manage an exciting and varied workload.

You will be a collaborator, with the ability to work, commission and engage with a range of people. Committed to building excellent working relationships you will champion co-production and understand the impact of arts and cultural activities on health and wellbeing, education and economic growth.
