Are you reliable, practical and take pride in creating safe, clean and welcoming environments? We are looking for a motivated individual to provide a combination of caretaking and cleaning services at 2 of our village schools.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working independently, taking ownership of site standards and helping ensure our school communities are safe, secure and well maintained.
Available Locations & Hours
Kirk Hammerton CE Primary School (Evening only)
- 3 hours cleaning per evening
- 1 hour caretaking per evening
- Start time can be flexible, but no later than 5:00pm
Green Hammerton CE Primary School (Morning only)
- 30 minutes cleaning per day
- 1.5 hours caretaking per day
- Start time from 6:30am
- Some flexibility available, approximately 15 minutes later if required, or earlier starts are possible

About the Role
The successful candidate will provide high-quality cleaning and caretaking services to help maintain a safe, secure and hygienic environment for pupils, staff and visitors. Duties will include a mixture of cleaning, site maintenance and security responsibilities. Information drawn from the cleaner and caretaker role profiles.
Cleaning Duties Include
- Vacuuming, sweeping and mopping floors
- Cleaning classrooms, offices and communal areas
- Safe use and storage of cleaning equipment and chemicals
- Maintaining cleaning records where required
Caretaking Duties
- Opening and securing school buildings
- Responding appropriately to alarms and site issues
- Carrying out minor repairs and maintenance tasks
- Supporting furniture moves and general portering duties
- Liaising with school staff, contractors and building users to ensure effective service delivery
What We're Looking For
Essential
- Experience of cleaning or maintaining buildings
- Ability to carry out minor repairs and practical maintenance tasks
- Ability to work independently and use your own initiative
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Reliable, self-motivated and flexible approach to work
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and site safety
