An exciting opportunity has arisen to join North Yorkshire Council’s Early Help Service in the Richmondshire area as a Children and Families Support Worker. This involves working in partnership to deliver a wide range of interventions and support to parents, carers, children, young people and their families to improve outcomes.

 

The successful candidate will join an established team, supervising Court directed contacts for children and families open to Children’s Social Care, and delivering group sessions to children and parents.  It also includes direct work with children, young people and their families to share understanding and strategies for areas such as wellbeing, parenting and healthy relationships. You will also work closely with the community and voluntary sectors to identify partnership ways of working to improve outcomes for Children and their families.

 

Based in Colburn Children & Families Hub, but with some home working included, you will mainly work across the Richmondshire district. The role may also involve supporting colleagues across other areas and travel further afield where necessary to support children and families.    

 

The successful candidates will have experience of working directly with vulnerable children or young people and their families. Due to the nature of the service delivery the successful post holder will be working mainly afternoons and early evenings with occasional weekends. The hours and days to be discussed at the interview. Candidates must be highly focussed, committed, and adaptable individuals who have an aptitude to work in a fast-paced environment and have good organisational and communication skills.
