Childrens Services Solicitor/Lawyer

Salary: £35,745 - £48,474 per annum

Grade: JK - M

Contract: Permanent

Hours: Full time/ 37 hours a week

Location: Flexibility over agreeing which one of our Council Offices locations the role is based from, with hybrid working opportunities and a requirement to cover the North Yorkshire area for hearings and meetings.

North Yorkshire Council provides a range of services, and the role of the Legal Service is to support the provision by providing a comprehensive and efficient legal service to the Directorates. The Children Team is part of the wider Legal and Democratic Services which is part of Central Services and provides legal advice and representation for our clients in the Children and Young People Services Directorate in relation to children matters.

 

The position requires the ability to provide advice and representation in all children matters including care proceedings, pre proceedings matters and responding to specific procedural and legal queries. It is also essential that you are able to undertake research and provide advice in relation to more complex issues involving other operational matters.

 

Applicants with a specific interest and experience in children law are particularly welcome however we welcome all applications from qualified professionals and will be considered.
