Assistant Strategy and Performance Officer

Salary: From £29,269 up to £32,076 per annum pro rata (pay award pending)

Grade: H

Contract: Permanent posts available

Hours: 37 hours

Location:  Hybrid, County Hall Northallerton

 

Following a re-structure to better serve the needs of the new unitary authority for North Yorkshire, the Strategy and Performance Team is recruiting Assistant Strategy and Performance Officers whose role is to support performance management and the development of strategies and policies across the council. This is an exciting opportunity to start a career in a local authority and develop a broad range of knowledge, skills and experience relating to the work of local government.

 

 

Working in a newly formed small team of five people your main duties will be to:

 

  • Assist the development, monitoring and review of specified multi-agency, council, directorate and service action plans.
  • Assist with the analysis of national and local policy changes.
  • Assist with horizon scanning of national and local current affairs that may impact on the work of the local authority.
  • Support the development of corporate responses to changing strategy or policy requirements.
  • Support the performance management and monitoring of services.

 

 

The successful candidate must have:

 

  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Effective planning, co-ordination and organising skills.
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent ICT skills.
