Early Years is the first step of a child’s school journey – you could be part of this exciting time!

About us
Nestled three miles in-land on the Whitby Coast, Sleights Church of England (Voluntary Controlled) Primary School is a key part of the community. Described as a ‘community more than a school’ by Ofsted, we pride ourselves on providing a friendly and welcoming environment for pupils and staff.

We have around 130 pupils and 6 classes including our Nursery – pupils start their learning journey in the Explorers Class, progressing through school to our Pioneers, Learners, Adventurers, Discoverers, and lastly the Leaders Class, our oldest class group.

Our school site is a wonderful place to be, surrounded by lush outdoor space and a forest; allowing staff and pupils to step out of the classroom and take learning out into the fresh air.

Our school vision focuses on "Working together to be happy; to flourish; to succeed". We are keen to promote children's charitable outreach and support all children to make a wider difference. You can see the great work our pupils have done here.

We are committed to providing children with exciting, real life and practical learning opportunities. We are keen to share and further develop excellent provision for our staff and children.
