Our Team

 

Here at North Yorkshire Council our Transformation Department plays a vital role in improving and developing services across the whole Council for the benefit of our customers and staff. This means that our department is at the heart of delivering exciting transformational change projects and programmes collaboratively with core Council services and partner organisations. The Projects & Programmes Service was a key part of supporting the establishment of the New North Yorkshire Council through Local Government Re-organisation in April 2023 and continues to drive and deliver key projects and programmes to achieve the organisational change and transformational ambitions of North Yorkshire Council.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for Project Managers (Level 2) to join our team as we prepare to deliver the next phase of transformation in North Yorkshire.

The role

 

As a Project Manager (Level 2) you will lead on the planning and implementation of designated projects and ensure they are delivered on time and within budget. You will work closely with the project sponsor, the project board and senior service area managers to ensure that there is a robust business case for change, and then to plan and deliver strategically important projects and/or programmes.

You will lead multi-disciplinary project teams throughout the lifecycle of agreed projects, planning and monitoring activity across a number of inter-related work streams to ensure successful delivery within cost, time and quality requirements. It will be your responsibility to secure and manage project resources from across the organisation, and to manage project activity on a daily basis, using our established project management methodology. We manage transformation projects and programmes across the whole range of local government and corporate support services, and we are open to matching allocated work to your areas of interest and experience where possible

What you will bring

 

To be successful in these roles you will need to have knowledge and experience of project management techniques and tools and strong leadership qualities. You will have a relevant degree and/or equivalent experience, and where possible, professional training in recognised project management methodologies. You will have experience of successfully managing stakeholders and resources to deliver organisational change. For a detailed outline of the role please see attached the job specification.
